Rotary airlock valves are also called rotary feeders, rotary valves, or just rotary airlocks. Used in both pressure style and vacuum style pneumatic conveying systems, these valves serve as a “lock” to prevent air loss while simultaneously performing vital material handling functions. Though simple, the rotary airlock valve is a critical component to the efficiency of a conveying system. It is important to remember that not all rotary valves are necessarily rotary airlock valves – but virtually all rotary airlocks are rotary valves.
Application Area:
EFM designed and fabricated rotary airlock valves are used in a wide range of applications where there is need to minimize system air loss while transferring material between vessels with differing pressures.
Rotary airlocks are used from dust collectors to pneumatic conveying systems not only to control the feed rate by to also minimise air leakage between equipment above and below the valve with differing levels of pressure or vacuum.
They are also used as feeder valves to meter the flow of material between vessels with equivalent pressures.
Salient Features:
These units utilize one-piece rotors with cast machined housings for a superior seal.
All units utilize permanently lubricated outboard bearings ensuring low maintenance.
