Screw Feeders

Screw Feeders

Overview:

  • Screw feeders and live bottoms are one of the most accurate and efficient methods of metering bulk materials. Many processes begin with bulk materials being discharged from hoppers, bins or silos. The inlet area is flood-loaded and designed to meter bulk materials at fixed or variable rates.
  • Metering capacities up to 10,000 cubic feet per hour can easily be handled with EFM Screw Feeders.

Application Area:

  • Ideal for metering a wide variety of bulk materials – from sluggish to free-flowing.

Features:

  • Bulk materials are discharged in mass-flow or first-in, first-out with uniform flow – no bridging or rat-holing of bulk materials in hopper.

Customization Options:

  • Custom engineered for your specific application.
  • Design flexibility – can be a single or multiple-screw design depending on hopper design and required feed rate.
  • Can be designed with variable frequency drives to provide a wide range of feed rates to downstream processes.
  • Wide range of construction materials – Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and abrasion-resistant alloys
  • Flight configurations designed for material characteristics – variable pitch, mass-flow or tapered flight.
  • High torque drive units to start under heavy load conditions.
  • Totally enclosed design – to eliminate dust or vapor emissions.

Industries Served:

  • EFM designs and manufactures screw feeders to be used in many industries including cement, chemical, food, mining and wastewater treatment industries for conveying and elevating bulk materials.
